The Witcher 3 Strategy： Wandering in the Dark (Main Quest) – Velen
■Start condition：
Automatically start after main quest『Hunting a Witch』.
※There are two way to come to the start point.
– Come with Keira.(Choose “Can we go?” at previous main quest 『Hunting a Witch』)
– meet at the venue.(Choose “Can’t go just yet.” at previous main quest 『Hunting a Witch』)

■Walkthrough：
1. Follow Keira.
→Point A.
→Follow Keira till she open the portal. Go to phase 2.
2. Go through Keira’s portal.
→Point B.
→Go through Keira’s portal. You’ll get separated with Keira. Go to phase 3.
3. Use your Witcher Senses to find Keira.
→Be careful there are three drowners ahead of portal.
→There is underwater ahead, go through under water. Don’t forget pick the treasure chest inside the underwater.
↓You can go back to the large hall. Use your Witcher Senses you can find Keira’s direction by voice reacting. Go through west side of the hall(point C).
→You’ll find Keira been attacked by rats. Go to phase 4.
4. Destroy rat nests with Signs or bombs.0/2
→Point D
→Ignore rats. They appear infinitely.
→Use Agnii spell to rats nest that is easier to destroy. Go to following choice.
Choice
– Lets’s hurrry.・・・Go to phase 5.
– Scared? Go back. I’m gonna keep going.・・・Go to phase 5.
– Need to find out what the Hunt’s doing here.・・・Go to phase 5.
5. Explore the elven ruins and look for information about the mage.
→Point E
↓You’ll find elf’s projection. Listen to the elf’s message and go to phase 6.
6. Explore the ruins and follow the swallow symbols.
→There is a large hall ahead of elf’s projection. The area is poisoned and 4 wraiths are waiting(point F).
→Lure wraiths out from poison area to defeat them all.
→Don’t use torch at this area. Poison gas will be ignited and explode.

→There is a puddle at the east side of the hall. Go underwater and you can find treasure chest(point G). If you have spare time, get treasure chest. Be careful three wraiths appear when you touch the treasure chest. May be it’s wiser to ignore the wraiths and go underwater.
→Go to the west side aisle of the hall. Go to phase 7.
7. Search the chamber using your Withcer Senses.
↓Proceed aisle, you’ll find the elf’s projection(second one). Go close to the elf’s projection and event starts(point H). Go to phase 8. after the event.
8. Use you Witcher Senses to find something associated with Ciri’s horse Kelpie.
↓There is Kelpie mural inside huge well at the room of elf’s projection(second one).
※There are several mural in the room which are traps.
↓It’ll explode If you touch to the dog mural.
↓Copies of Geralt and Keira appear and attack you if you touch to the sea monster mural.
※Don’t forget to get treasure chests underwater.
→Go east direction underwater.
→Go strait to the aisle out of the underwater.
→There is Kelpie mural at the dead end of the aisle. Examine the mural so that the gimmick works for opening the door to the next chamber. Go to phase 9.(point J).
9. Rejoin Keira.
→Rejoin Keira and go to phase 10.
10. Explore new chambers with Keira.
↓You’ll find the swallow mural ahead of the new chamber. Examine the mural and new gate will open(point K).
→Go to phase 11.
11. Enter the portal.
→Enter the portal and go to phase 12.
12. Examine the next room using your Witcher Senses.
→Go straight to the room. You’ll encounter to the golem. Go to phase 13.
13. Fight the guardian.
→Point L
→Guardian is the golem.
1) Fast attack is almost no damage to the golem. Use strong attack to damage it.
2) Aard spell is very effective to stale the golem. Once you stale the golem by Aard spell, attack by strong attack just one and then dodge behind to avoid golem’s counter attack.
3) When the golem start rush into Geralt, dodge behind or side way.

→Go to phase 14.
14. Continue exploring the ruins and follow the swallow symbols.
→Go straight the golem’s room.
→You’ll find branches to go left way and straight way. Go left way so that you can find the swallow mural. Go to phase 15.
→You’ll encounter with the gargoyle if you go straight to the branches. The gargoyle is strong but you can get the treasure chest at the room.
↓How to defeat gargoyle.
1) Use Quen spell during the battle.
2) Keep distance between the gargoyle. The gargoyle often use shock wave attack that damages you near by.
3) Be careful the gargoyle sometimes throw rocks to attack you.
4) Let Keira attack the gargoyle. When the gargoyle obsessed on Keira, quickly go behind the gargoyle by dodging and then strong attack it.
5) When the gargoyle change its obsession to Geralt, make distance and repeat above process.

15. Find a way to activate the portal using your Witcher Senses.
↓Examine swallow mural(Point N). Go to phase 16.
16. Enter the portal.
→Enter the portal. Go to phaese 17.
17. Follow the Wild Hunt’s warriors.
→Go straight the cave till event starts. Go to phase 18.
18. Keep close to Keira and stay under her magic shield.
→ Point O
→ Follow Keira. Be careful not to go out side Keira’s magic shield. The damage would be huge.
→ Hound of the Wild Hunt will attack Geralt on the way. Defense yourself by Quen spell and fast attack is enough to damage them.

→At the end of way, event starts and go to following choice.
Choice(time limit decision)
– Just don’t faint on me.・・・go to phase 19.
– If you can’t go on…・・・go to phase 19.
19. Follow Keira.
→Follow Keira. Go to pahse 20.
20. Chase the Wild Hunt’s warriors.
→Keira will lead you to the Wild Hunt’s warriors. There are a lot of items and treasure chest around this area, you may take those before you proceed.
→Go till point P. Event starts and go to phase 21.
21. Chase the Wild Hunt’s warriors.
↓Follow Keira. You can find the door that can break by Aard spell on the way. Get two treasure boxes but be careful there is poison fog in the room. Also be careful the foglet will appear when you touch the treasure box. Prepare with Quen spell.
→Resume following Keira. Event starts and go to phase 22.
22. Fight the Wild Hunt warrior.
→The battle will start with Wild Hunt warrior Nithral(Point P).
↓How to defeat Nithral.
1) Basically don’t go close to Nithral. The counterattack damage will be huge.
2) Axii spell is very effective. Use Axii spell, Nithral will flounder.
3) Strong attack twice during Nithral is floundering.
4) Make distance from Nithral before he counterattack.
5) Sometimes Nithral use protection shield. Don’t attack the shield or you’ll be damaged.
6) During the shield, Nithral summon Hound of the Wild Hunt. Beat those monster.
5) Repeat above process.

→Go to phase 23.
23. Look for information about Ciri using your Witcher Senses.
→Go close to the elf’s projection. Event starts with following choice 1.
Choice 1.
– Elf warned Ciri about some witches.・・・go to choice 2.
– Wonder why they split up.・・・just conversation.
Choice 2.
– How do I find the witches?・・・you’ll get main quest 『The Ladies of the Wood』
(This choice appears only after check following two choices)
– Do you know these withes?・・・just conversation.
– Didn’t mention them earlier. Why?・・・just conversation.
↓There are a lot of stuff react to Witcher Senses. The Correct one is following wall.
→Check the wall. Event will start and you’ll get The Eye of Nehaleni. You’ll dispel all illusion here after. Go to phase 24.
24. Use the Eye of Nehaleni to dispel the illusion.
↓Check the wall reacts to Witcher Senses.
→Go to phase 25.
25. Follow Keira.
→Follow Keira. Event will start(point Q) and go to following choice.
Choice
– Fine. I’ll help.・・・quest completed and Secondary quest 『Magic Lamp』 automatically starts.
– I’m going to straight to the Bog.・・・quest completed and resume main quest 『Family matters』.
※Suggest to help Keira, or you’ll never receive secondary quest 『Magic Lamp』.
→You can go to secret room using Eye of Nehaleni(point R). This route has no relation to main story but can get some useful items.
※Be careful foglet will appear when you check treasure chest at secret room.
